With a powerful soul:  The Soul 170I was developed on the basis of the Tungsol KT170 Power Tube. It delivers 130 watts of power in ultralinear mode or 75 watts of power in triode mode per channel. The Soul 170I is equipped with two powerful KT170 tubes per channel for the circuit designed in Class AB push-pull. The 22DE4 is used as a tube rectifier for the power supply of the input driver stage equipped with ECC83S and 6SN7.

The 170I offers two modes of operation: Triode and Ultralinear. You can choose between two different sound signatures. The triode mode is tender, harmonious, soft and gentle. Ideal for vocal and instrumental music. Ultralinear mode offers powerful and controlled playback. Ideal for music with punch and dynamics

On the back of the amplifier there are three pairs of line inputs , a pair of XLR balanced inputs and a pair of inputs for connecting a preamp so that the amplifier can also be used as a pure power amplifier. A sub-out is also available if an additional subwoofer system is used.

The bias of the KT170 power tubes can be easily monitored and user adjusted via the top panel display.

Like all other Cayin amplifiers, the Soul 170I uses point-to-point cabling. All circuitry including the signal path is carefully hand wired with high quality cable.

A soft-start circuit and high-voltage delay to protect the tubes and amplifier ensure longer life for the high-quality components.

Also used to protect the amplifier are high voltage fuses located on the top panel near the power tubes. In the event of a tube failure, the fuse reacts immediately.

It goes without saying that only high-quality components are used: Alps volume controls , porcelain tube sockets , selected capacitors and carbon film resistors in the finest audio quality, a large-scale toroidal transformer for the power supply, EI output transformers with a large bandwidth.

Output transformers are among the most important components of every tube amplifier. They determine the bass quality and the resolution in the high-frequency range is significantly influenced by these components. Cayin develops and manufactures the output transformer itself and relies on a complicated multi-layer winding with optimal impedance matching for the connected converter.

The Soul 170I comes standard with a high-quality metal remote control that remembers the last setting of the device when it is switched off.
